Here are the top three stories today in Baton Rouge:
- The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating an incident in which a local restaurant's windows were smashed with a baseball bat. When officers were called to the Wingstop on Florida Boulevard on Thursday, they found several shattered windows; video footage appears to show a woman stepping through a shattered glass door while holding a bat. No arrests have been made at this time. (WBRZ)
- A pair of Baton Rouge first responders will be featured in an upcoming documentary called "Into the Unknown — A Parademics' Journey." Nicky Johnson and Nicole Jagers, who are going on 15 years as emergency responders, participated in the filming to highlight the mental strength required in their work. According to experts, approximately 30 percent of first responders develop a mental health condition; Jager notes this has been challenged even more due to an increase in violent crime in the Capital Area. (WJTV)
- Get your thrills at the Thrillville Capital City Fair, running through Apr. 10 at Memorial Stadium! The fair features rides, games with prizes, live sea lions, classic carnival foods, and more. The Baton Rouge Police Department and Thrillville fair security will be on site. (WAFB)
