As his nation is conquered and his family divided, Daniel faces intensifying pressure to abandon his convictions. Will his faith survive? Millions around the world will watch the drama unfold in the two-part feature film “Daniel: A Lifetime of Faith” being presented at the 2021 “Powerful by Faith!” Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The historical Bible film illustrates how faith can empower individuals to face and endure life’s challenges with courage. Bible dramas have been a feature of the annual conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many decades. This year is no different, even as the organization shifted to a virtual format.

“As a child, a highlight of going to the conventions with my mother, and later with my stepdad, was the theater-like atmosphere of the Bible dramas,” said Jonathan Jackson of Kenner. “I am looking forward to seeing how Daniel’s faith carried him through some very difficult situations, notably being thrown into a lion’s pit.”

The “Powerful by Faith!” Convention is being delivered over virtual platforms in over 500 languages to households in 240 lands during July and August 2021. For Jehovah’s Witnesses, who have held in person events annually in stadiums, arenas, convention centers, and theaters around the world since 1897, the pandemic has brought a pause to a century-old tradition.

The continued risk of bringing thousands of people together in cities across the globe prompted the world’s largest convention organization to cancel nearly 6,000 events worldwide and opt for a virtual program for the second consecutive year. The move, however, has not curbed the enthusiasm for the annual convention which is expected to unite 15-20 million people globally.

“Faith has helped our global brotherhood to continue to thrive even during a pandemic,” said Robert Hendriks, U.S. Spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses. “Our faith will continue to unite us in worship —even virtually — as millions gather in private homes around the world to enjoy a powerful and inspiring spiritual program.”

All are invited to attend the event by going to jw.org on the web or JW Broadcasting on the free JW Library iOS or Android App, or on streaming platforms like Roku TV, Apple TV, and others. The program is free and accessible to all.
