A Delgado Community College education leads to enhanced employment opportunities or
transfer to a four-year college.
Delgado offers instruction online and at seven locations, including the City Park,
West Bank (Algiers), Sidney Collier, Charity School of Nursing and Maritime and Industrial
Training Center locations in New Orleans, the River City Site in Avondale and the
Jefferson Site in Metairie.
Those who are not legal residents of Louisiana pay the same low tuition as local residentsβjust
over $2,000 per semester for a full-time, 12-credit-hour load ($170 per credit hour).
Delgadoβs tuition and fees are the lowest of any SACSCOC accredited higher education
institution in the New Orleans region.
Founded in 1921, Delgado is the oldest and largest community college in Louisiana.
As well as offering associate degrees and transferable college credits, Delgado provides
diplomas and certifications in dozens of professional and technical areas.
Some of Delgadoβs largest programs are nursing, business and management, accounting,
radiologic technology, criminal justice, computer information technology, culinary
arts, teaching grades 1-5 and motor vehicle technology.
Workforce development is a priority at Delgado, hence the collegeβs motto: βEducation
that works.β Visit www.dcc.edu to learn more about all of Delgadoβs educational programs and activities.
