Jefferson Chamber Of Commerce: Legislative Issues Breakfast Set For March 9

METAIRIE, La. β The Jefferson Chamber will host its Legislative Issues Breakfast on Wednesday, March 9 at the Hilton New Orleans Airport to discuss economic development in Louisiana and the challenges and opportunities for the business community in the 2022 state legislative session. Ruth Lawson, president of the Jefferson Chamber, will moderate the discussion featuring LABI President & CEO Stephen Waguespack and GNO, Inc. President & CEO Michael Hecht.

As the stateβs Chamber of Commerce and manufacturing association, LABI represents more than 2,000 [RL1] businesses of every size, in every region and sector. As the president of LABI since 2013, Stephen has worked to enhance the associationβs focus on federal issues, research, policy, as well as member engagement through technological advancements.
Greater New Orleans, Inc. is the economic development organization for southeast Louisiana. Its mission falls broadly into two categories: business development β attracting and growing businesses β and product development β creating better business conditions. Under Michaelβs leadership, GNO, Inc. was named the No. 2 economic development organization in the United States by Business Facilities magazine.

In addition, the Chamber is introducing a passing of the mic βTwo-Minute Takeβ. [RL2] This opportunity is extended to the Jefferson Delegation and allows State Representatives and Senators to speak briefly on their 2022 priorities.
The event will begin with networking at 7:30 a.m., followed by the breakfast, two-minute take, and panel discussion from 8β9 a.m. Tickets are $75 for members and $125 [RL3] [AM4] for non-members.
