Here are the top stories in New Orleans today:

  1. The group organizing the Mayoral Recall campaign announced on Monday that they allegedly have enough signatures to start the recall process. Their deadline is on Feb. 22 and if the petition is certified and makes it to the governor's office, they will issue an election proclamation. The group said they will release their finals numbers on Wednesday. (WDSU New Orleans)
  2. Five people were shot nearby the Krewe of Bacchus Parade route on Sunday night. Police patrolling close by around 9:30 p.m. on Terpsichore Street and heard multiple shots fired. Four victims were young adults, and the 5th was a 4-year-old girl. One male victim later died at the hospital but all others received treatment and were released. (KLFY)
  3. 40 iPhones that were stolen at Mardi Gras parades this weekend have been recovered in Tangipahoa Parish. Four suspects were arrested after stolen items were found in an Airbnb near Tickfaw. The phones are in the process of being returned to their owners, but more information is available about the unclaimed ones. (FOX 8 Local First)
