Here are the top stories in New Orleans today:
- New Orleans City Councilmember JP Morell is calling for an investigation into the Sewerage & Water Board's billing practices, saying that customers have continued to receive high bills for years without much action on the behalf of the Board to fix the issue. Morrell wrote a letter to the New Orleans Inspector General outlining the issue. (FOX 8 Local First)
- An unmarked JPSO car with a police dog inside was stolen on Thursday. The vehicle was taken near Esplanade and Severn avenues around 6 p.m. With help from the NOPD, the car was found later in New Orleans with the K-9 officer still inside and unharmed. (WDSU)
- Just days away from their deadline, the organization trying to imitate a mayoral recall for LaToya Cantrell, NOLATOYA, has filed a suit inquiring after 30,000 names that are listed on voting rolls to be verified. The group claims that many registered voters have moved outside of the state or parish and others are deceased. They have asked that the names be removed or at least investigated. (WWLTV.com)
