Firefighters Respond To Two-Alarm Fire In New Orleans East
The fire started in a rear bedroom at 4431 and spread throughout the home and to the home next door.

On Saturday, December 25, 2021 at 2:53 a.m.,the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) received a 911 call reporting a fire in a home located at 4439 Arthur Drive in New Orleans East. Two adults were home at the time of the fire at 4439 and one adult was home at 4431and everyone escaped without injury before firefighters arrived.

The first NOFD company arrived on the scene at 2:56 a.m. of 4431 Arthur Drive, a one-story brick family dwelling, heavily involved with fire coming through the roof and spreading to a connected garage of the home next door at 4439 Arthur Drive. A Second alarm was called at 3:01 a.m.
The fire started in a rear bedroom at 4431 and spread throughout the home and to the home next door. The owner said he was in the process of renovating from damage caused by hurricane Ida.

The home was completely destroyed. The fire destroyed the connected garage at 4439 but the brick separating wall and firefighters prevented any interior damage to the home.
The American Red Cross was notified to assist these three residents.
Sixteen NOFD units carrying forty-four Fire Operations personnel, NOPD and Entergy were used to bring this incident under control at 3;34 a.m. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
