Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- A suspect barricaded himself inside a home on Tuesday afternoon causing a SWAT team to be dispatched to the scene. Around 1:15 p.m., police went to a home in the 7th ward on Allen Street. The man was being sought by law enforcement just before he shut himself inside the residence. (WGNO New Orleans)
- A shooting on a service road near I-10 caused a car to drive through a fence and crash with another vehicle on the interstate, leaving two dead and three wounded on Monday night. One man was declared dead at the scene and the rest were taken to the hospital where another man died and two more are in critical condition. (WWLTV.com)
- A float caught fire during the Orpheus parade on Monday evening. The parade was briefly delayed, and the cause of the fire is currently unknown, but no one was reportedly injured when the Leviathan float went up in smoke. Many photos were posted to social media showing smoke along the parade route. (WWLTV.com)
