New Orleans Drops Indoor Mask Mandate Post Mardi Gras

NEW ORLEANS, LA — Shortly after holding crowded Mardi Gras festivities, New Orleans is dropping its mask mandate, according to city officials.
New Orleans Health Department Director Dr. Jennifer Avegno announced the mandate would end Thursday morning during a news conference Wednesday afternoon.
The requirement will end at 6 a.m. Thursday, and the update to the city's COVID-19 policies comes following weeks of declining cases. The mandate was previously extended through Mardi Gras.
