New Orleans Fire Department: Two-Alarm Fire On Rampart Street

Fifteen New Orleans Fire Department units carrying thirty-five Fire Operations personnel were deployed to the scene of this fire.

On Friday, September 17, 2021, at 5:48 pm, the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to reports of a fire in a two-story wood framed building located at 718 Rampart St. The first company arrived on the scene of The Voodoo Lounge at 5:51 pm, reporting smoke exiting the building. A second alarm was immediately called for at 5:53 pm. due to the size and location of the building. Firefighters immediately conducted a primary search. Once the all clear was given, fire crews began an aggressive interior attack on the fire. Firefighters determined the bulk of the fire was located in a storage room of the building. They quickly worked to extinguish the fire. Crews continued to overhaul the area of origin due to concerns the fire may have extended into addition parts of the structure.

Fifteen NOFD units carrying thirty-five Fire Operations personnel were deployed to the scene of this fire. The fire was placed under control at 6:36 pm. There are no reports of any civilian or firefighter injuries. Entergy Electric assisted in the mitigation of this incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
