- There will be no recall election for Mayor Cantrell. The Governor announced that the recall petition only had 27,000 valid signatures, when the threshold needed to trigger an election was 45,000. In total around 67,000 signatures were submitted, with only 34,625 being submitted by the actual deadline. The rest were rejected due to not being from valid and qualified electors. (WWLTV)
- A shooting on Chef Menteur Highway left a 63-year-old man dead on Monday night. Just before 10 PM, police responded to the scene where a man was found and later pronounced dead by EMS. His identity and official cause of death will be released after an autopsy. (WDSU New Orleans)
- Multiple Civil Rights groups have signed a letter asking the U.S. Department of Education to begin a federal investigation into the move of inmates from the Bridge City Center for Youth to Angola.
