- The French Market Cooperation has requested that the New Orleans City Council create guidelines on the use of the Pontalba apartment amid months of controversy. There are currently no parameters set on how the apartment should be used. A meeting was held on Tuesday confirming this, and city council plans to take the plans for guidance under consideration. - A 19 year old was fatally shot early Tuesday morning on Almonaster Avenue. Police arrived on scene in New Orleans East to find the victim, a young man, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the scene. (WDSU New Orleans)
- $24.6 million has been allocated towards redeveloping Lincoln Beach in New Orleans East. Once a vibrant and bustling location, the site has been closed since 1964. The Cantrell Administration is the first to put money towards bringing it back to life in 6 decades and plans to start construction later this year. (WWLTV)
