Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:
- City Council has put an Interim Zoning District, effective immediately, that is pausing new short-term rentals, in mixed use historic neighborhoods. This means short-term rentals won't be coming to areas that have a mix of businesses and residences and its purpose is to prevent investors from purchasing properties while the city works on revamping short-term rental regulations. (WWNO)
- An Orleans Parish judge who was involved with the court case that reduced the number of signatures needed for the Mayor Recall campaign appears to also have signed the 'NoLaToya' recall petition. According to the news outlet that received a list of the signatures, Judge Jennifer Medley approved the reduced number and has her signature on the list. (WDSU New Orleans)
- A whole year after the city found a partner to develop the old Six Flags site, the deal has finally been completed. The property will now be transferred from the Industrial Development Board to the NORA Board of Commissioners, with $1 million from the City of New Orleans to bring the site back to life. (WDSU)
