APG Announces Armed Forces Day Festivities

The proving ground plans four days of events around the annual commemoration.

Aberdeen Proving Ground officials Thursday announced plans for Armed Forces Day.

The day is on May 15, but the annual events start Monday, May 13, with the Armed Forces Day Golf tournament at Ruggles Golf Course and end May 16 with a Military Appreciation Week luncheon.

Festivities on Armed Forces Day will be held on Fanshaw Field on the proving ground.

“We want the event to include the participation of tenant units, installation agencies and services, and surrounding communities and school to recognize the contributions and services of our armed forces and to highlight the capabilities and mission sets of Team APG through demonstrations and displays,” Capt. Maritzabel Mustafaa, commander of the HHC Garrison, said in a release.
