Body Found In House Fire In Aberdeen

The Harford County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Fire Marshal are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

ABERDEEN, MD — One person has died following an early morning house fire in Aberdeen.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal, just after 2 a.m. Thursday, the Aberdeen Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 400 block of Manor Court.

As crews battled the fire, they located a body inside the burning home.

"The victim has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for positive identification and cause of death," the agency tweeted.

Officials did not say where firefighters located the victim's body. Deputy state fire marshals and the Harford County Sheriff's Office are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

"This is standard operating procedure in any fatal fire," the state fire marshal's office said.
