Child Playing With Lighter Accidentally Causes $10K in Fire Damage

There were no injuries, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshall.

A child playing with a lighter accidentally started a fire in an Aberbeen home last Thursday, according to a release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office

The fire caused about $10,000 in damage to the wood-frame, one-story home in the 300 block of North Post Road. 

There were no injuries, according the release.

The fire was discovered in the rear bedroom by a woman occupying the home at about 2:41 p.m., on March 22. 

It took 35 firefighters from three fire companies about 10 minutes to quell the blaze.
