Danny Mays Named New IronBirds Announcer
Mays was one of eight finalists who competed at Saturday's IronFest.

Danny Mays is the new announcer of the Aberdeen IronBirds, the team announced on its Facebook page Tuesday.
"The choice was very difficult and very close," the team said in the post, thanking the other finalists for their "talent and professionalism."

The eight finalists in the team's "The Voice" competition went head to head in front of celebrity judges at the team's IronFest on Saturday.

Mays will be behind the microphone when the IronBirds open the season with a game against the Hudson Valley Renegades at Ripken Stadium on June 17.
