Aberdeen Man Killed on Route 40 in Aberdeen

The pedestrian was struck and killed early Wednesday on Pulaski Highway.

An Aberdeen man was struck and killed early Wednesday on U.S. Route 40 in Aberdeen.

Aberdeen police responded around 4:50 a.m. on May 15 to the area of Pulaski Highway (Route 40) near Beards Hill Road Extended, according to a department release. Officers arrived to find a man being administered CPR, the release stated. 

David Robert Brooke Jr., 32, of Walnut Lane in Aberdeen, was hit by a 1996 Chevy Blazer being driven by a 50-year-old Aberdeen man. The Aberdeen Fire Department transported Brooke to Harford Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver was uninjured, according to the release.

Eastbound Route 40 was shut down for about two hours as police investigated the crash.
