Police Release Video In Vi Ripken Abduction Case

The matriarch of the Ripken family was abducted last week and the investigation is ongoing.

Police have today released video and plan to release a composite sketch of the man suspected of last week.

The video, released by investigators, shows the suspect at aΒ retailΒ establishment in AnneΒ Arundel County. Later in the day police are expected to release a composite sketch of based on eyewitness accounts.

Lt. Fred Budnick with the wrote in an email Tuesday that noΒ specificΒ motive has been indentified in the alleged abduction.

"This is still considered to be a forced abduction not related to any medical orΒ health conditions," Budnick wrote.

Aberdeen police said a man armed with a handgunβ€”described as in his late 30s or early 40s wearing a light colored shirt, camouflageΒ pants and glassesβ€”forced Ripken into her vehicle between 7 and 8 a.m. July 24. The vehicle fled the area, police said.
