More than 500 people turned out Sunday for Walk MS Aberdeen at Ripken Stadium.
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society fundraiser is expected to raise $60,000, according to organization officials.
“MS is the number one disabling disease among young adults. The funds raised through Walk MS help us advance research worldwide and address the challenges of individuals living with MS right here in Maryland," Mark Roeder, president of the society's Maryland chapter, said in a news release. "But more than the critical funds it raises, Walk MS rallies family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, businesses and government officials around a shared vision: a world free of MS. We are so grateful for the wonderful outpouring of support from the Aberdeen community.”
