What Road in Aberdeen Needs a Speed Bump?
We asked Patch readers on Facebook what streets they thought needed a speed bump. Find out what your neighbors told us.

Aberdeen, MD- Over 9,000 fatalities occurred nationally during 2014 due to speeding according to the latest statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The data also shows a correlation between a driver’s age and the likelihood of a speed-related accident. As the age of a driver increases, their risk of being in an accident decreases. Men are also more likely to be at the wheel during a speeding accident, according to the study.
While the number of speed-related fatalities have continually decreased since 2005, speeding still remains an issue in many of our Patch communities, including Aberdeen. Readers suggested everything from increased police presence to more stop signs to building less housing to keep traffic at bay.

If you’re frustrated with speeders in a certain part of Aberdeen, you are in good company. We reached out to readers on Facebook, asking which local road they thought needed a speed bump. Here’s what your neighbors told us:
- "Beards Hill Road and Union Street."
- "Clover Street.'
- "All of them."
- "Edmund Street in Hillsdale."
- " I live near the train station. People fly on Post Road and surrounding streets. We have a lot of kids and pedestrians on my road because they use it as a short cut to get to Route 40. I would love to see the big speed bumps like they have in Joppatowne and Edgewood."
- "Raymond Avenue."
- "Walker Street."
- "Everist Drive"
- "Center Deen Avenue."
- "Kretlow Drive. Please. The road dead ends but for some reason a lot of GPS systems read it as thru way to Hardees Drive. No less than 10 lost drivers a day flying down this road only to slam on their breaks and turn around."
- "Centerdeen Ave!!! All the kids play outside and the cars drive extremely too fast!"
- "Hillcrest! Tired of people cutting through to avoid 22 construction!"
- "End of Law and Walnut Lane. No one ever stops at that stop sign, and I mean no one!"
- "I would like to see radar enforcement on Paradise in the Hillcrest area. APG traffic uses this residential street to avoid the congestion on 22. "
