Barktoberfest Raises $965 for County SPCA

Many of the dogs at the event were adopted from the Anne Arundel County SPCA.

The SPCA of Anne Arundel County celebrated its own rendition of Oktoberfest -- Barktoberfest -- on Saturday with a fundraiser filled with canine fun and costumes.

Pet owners showed up with their furry friends in costume, and 38 dogs registered for the pet parade. Many of the dogs in the parade were previously adopted from the SPCA.

A total of $965 was raised through the Barktoberfest fundraiser. Proceeds will help the SPCA of Anne Arundel County provide shelter, humane care, veterinary and rehabilitation care for animals.
