Recent activity of Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department.

During the period March 24 – March 31, the AVFD received 65 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Mar. 27: At around 11:34 a.m., an unconscious person was reported on the 1100 block of Courtney Road in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded and transported one critically ill person to a local hospital.

Mar. 27: At around 7:25 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with roll over was reported on the 2500 block of Hammonds Ferry Road in Lansdowne. Crews from the Lansdowne and Arbutus volunteer stations responded. Two people with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to a local hospital.

Mar. 27: At around 7:55 p.m., an appliance fire was reported on the 1300 block of Poplar Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded and found an overheated stove.

Mar. 27: At around 11:53 p.m., an apartment fire was reported on the 4300 block of Alan Drive in Arbutus. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded. A stovetop fire was extinguished.

Mar. 30: At around 11:28 a.m., a person with trouble breathing was reported on the 4600 block of Wilkens Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously ill person to a local hospital.
