Here is a sampling of the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department's recent activity.

During the period June 19-26, AVFD received 64 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

June 21: At 6:17 a.m., a motor vehicle accident involving a dwelling was reported on the 4200 block of Wilkens Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded to find damage to the front porch of a dwelling, but no injuries.

June 21: At 9:50 p.m., an assault was reported on the 900 block of Maiden Choice Lane in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one person with non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.

June 23: At 12:31 a.m., a fall patient was reported on the 1200 block of North Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously injured person to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

June 24: At 6:57 p.m., an unconscious overdose was reported at Washington Boulevard at Commerce Drive in Lansdowne. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded. One critically ill person was transported to a local hospital.

June 25: At 12:16 p.m., a fire alarm was reported on the 4300 block of Kensington Road in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded to find a stovetop fire that had self-extinguished.
