During the period June 26-July 3, AVFD received 62 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

June 26: At 6:46 p.m., an auto fire was reported on I-695 between Exits 12A and 12 in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded to find an overheated vehicle, but no fire.

June 28: At 11:59 a.m., a motor vehicle accident was reported on the 5100-block of Benson Avenue in Violetville. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one person with non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.

June 29: At 2:45, a report of a person locked out of a vehicle was received from Giant Food on the 4600-block of Wilkens Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and extricated two dogs from the locked vehicle.

July 1: At 6:39 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 200-block of Elizabeth Avenue in Lansdowne. Crews from the Lansdowne, Arbutus, English Consul and Violetville volunteer stations and Halethorpe career stations responded. A deck fire was extinguished.

July 2: At 7:40 p.m., a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle was reported at Washington Boulevard at Montgomery Road in Howard County. Crews from AVFD responded and transported one seriously injured person to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
