During the period Feb. 17-24, AVFD received 81 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:
Arbutus
Feb. 17: At around 12:18 p.m., an injured subject was reported at UMBC. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously injured person to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Feb. 18: At around 6:35 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with entrapment was reportedon the 5200-block of Southwestern Boulevard. Crews from the VFD and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Woodlawn volunteer stations responded. Two seriously injured people were rescued from the vehicle and transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Feb. 18: At around 6:14 p.m., a building fire was reported at the Albin O. Kuhn Library and Gallery at UMBC. Crews from the Arbutus, Violetville, Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded and extinguished a small fire at location.

Howard County
Feb. 18: At around 11:36 a dwelling fire with people trapped was reported on the 6300-blocl of Loudon Avenue. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career stations responded and extinguished a two alarm fire.
Violetville
Feb. 17: At around 8:32 p.m., a building fire was reported at Fish Head Cantina on the 4800-block of Benson Avenue. Crews from the Violetville, Arbutus and Lansdowne volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe, and Westview career stations responded and extinguished the fire.
