Recent activity of the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department

During the period Feb. 24–Mar. 3, AVFD received 69 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Feb. 24: At around 2:59 a.m., aΒ  cardiac arrest was reported on Baltimore-Washington Parkway at the Baltimore City line. Crews from the Lansdowne and Arbutus volunteer stations and Westview career stations responded. One critically ill person was taken to a local hospital.

Feb. 25: At around 4:23 p.m.,Β  an unknown illness or injury was reported on the 1000-block of Leeds Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously ill person to a local hospital.

Feb. 27: At around 4:36 p.m., a fall injury was reported at Catonsville High School on the 400-block of Bloomsbury Avenue in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously injured person to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Feb. 28: At around 7:21 p.m., a fire alarm was reported on the 6500-block of Baltimore National Pike in Westview. Crews from the AVFD responded to find an accidental activation from construction work.

Mar. 2: At around 1:55 p.m.,Β  a motor vehicle accident was reported at the Rite-Aid on the 4700-block of Westland Boulevard in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career stations responded. One seriously injured person was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
