27-year-old Deriyan Woodson was sentenced to 16 years in federal prison this week for interstate domestic violence. According to Woodson’s plea agreement, she became romantically involved with the victim; a 17-year-old from Halethorpe, Maryland.

On July 30, 2017, Woodson traveled from Orlando, Florida to Maryland where she entered the victim’s residence, duct taped the victim’s grandmother and proceeded to stab and assault the teenager.

Woodson was later taken into custody by Howard County Police Department officers at an area hotel where she had checked in with the minor. Woodson was placed under arrest by Baltimore County Police Department officers. The evidence BCoPD officers collected assisted federal authorities in their prosecution of Woodson.
