Volunteers are sought for a clean-up event spearheaded by members of the Lansdowne Improvement Association at Hillcrest Park on Third Avenue for Saturday, June 2, from 7 a.m. to noon.

Dumpsters will be provided for trash picked up from the shoreline of the lake and the park, according to a notice posted to the group's Facebook wall, and for residents to discard items from their property.

Members of the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department water rescue team will be on hand to remove debris from the lake in Hillcrest Park, sources tell Arbutus Patch.
