Recent law enforcement activity in the greater Arbutus area

Apr. 4: At around 10:50 a.m., police received a report of a burglary on the 100-block of Third Avenue in Lansdowne. An unknown person broke into a vacant house through a side window between Mar. 27 and Apr. 4 and took a washer, dryer and water heater, along with copper pipes. Leaking water from removing the water heater damaged carpeting as well. The total loss was reported at $6,500.

Apr. 4: At around 1:45 p.m., police received a report of a burglary on the 700-block of Raynor Avenue in Catonsville. Some time between April 1-4, an unknown person opened a shed and stole several power saws worth $2,409.

Apr. 5: At around 1:20 a.m., police received a report of an assault on the unit block of Twin Circle Way in Baltimore Highlands. A 21-year-old female was visiting the home of Dustin Anthony Harris, 21. The two were roughhousing in a second-floor bedroom when the woman was struck in the face. Harris reportedly released his pit bull and asked his guest to leave. She said she would, as soon as he put the pit bull away and retrieved her shoes. According to police, Harris responded by punching her in the mouth, breaking her tooth, and held a black BB gun to her head. The woman left the house, and when police responded the BB gun was located and Harris was charged with first degree assault.

Apr. 5: At around 12 p.m., police received a report of a burglary on the unit-block of Babybird Court in Baltimore Highlands. Police were met by an employee of the Highlands Village Townhomes, who reported that unknown juveniles had entered a vacant home sometime between April 1-5. The suspects entered the home by breaking a side window and exited through a rear sliding glass door. Nothing was taken from the home.

Apr. 6: At around 2 p.m., police received a report of an assault on the 3300-block of Kessler Road in Riverview. When police arrived on the scene they saw a 40-year-old male being chased down the street by a younger female swinging a baseball bat. Jessica Lynn Grace, 20, claimed that the victim had taken several items from her apartment. She took a knife from a kitchen and threatened the victim, making jabbing motions with the knife. Grace reportedly stabbed the victim’s car tires several times, until the knife blade broke. Witnesses said she then took a metal baseball bat and began bashing the victim’s car, causing two dents,. She swung the baseball bat at the victim several times, but missed.Β  According to police, the dents in the vehicle appeared to match the baseball bat. The knife handle was recovered, but not the broken blade. Grace was arrested on charges of first degree assault.

Apr. 7: At around 4:21 p.m., police received a report of an assault on a security guard at a clothing store on the 5400-block of Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville. The guard reportedly saw Justin Xavier Edwards take several items and confronted him in the parking lot. Edwards allegedly stabbed the guard in the abdomen and fled the scene. Edwards, of the 900-block of St. Agnes Lane, was located by police and arrested on charges if first degree assault and attempted first degree murder.

Apr. 7: At around 3:23 p.m., a police officer on routine patrol saw smoke coming from the first floor of a vacant single family home on the 3700-block of Century Avenue in English Consul. Despite the response of the fire department, the house burned to the ground, resulting in a loss estimated at $50,000. In addition, the siding of the next-door neighbor’s house was scorched, producing $5,000 in damage. Witnesses told police that two males entered the house through a front window and were seen fleeing the scene. Police located and arrested two suspects, including Patrick Michael Brace, 18, of the 3000-block of New York Avenue in English Consul. The second suspect is a minor and cannot be publicly identified. The two have been charged with second degree arson, fourth degree burglary and destruction of property. The arson charge is a felony for which the suspects face up to 20 years in prison.

Apr. 7: At around 9:50 p.m., police received a report of assault from a driver for Pizza Boli on the 5200-block of East Drive.Β  The driver had delivered a pizza and was parked in front of the 2900-block of Lakebrook Circle in Lansdowne. He saw three men approach his vehicle and, frightened that something untoward was about to happen, began to drive away. One of the men pulled out a handgun and fired a shot that struck the driver’s window and passed through the open pedestrian window. The driver was uninjured in the incident. The suspect brandishing the handgun was described as 16-18 years old, 5’ 7”, wearing blue jeans and a white and black striped hoodie. The second suspect was 16-18 years old, 5’ 8”, with a dark bandana on his head. The third suspect is 18-20 years old, 6’, with ear-length braided hair.

Apr. 8: A report of burglary was received from Rent-A-Center on the 3400-block of Annapolis Road. Review of a security video revealed that two men removed five 32-inch Panasonic televisions from a rear storeroom door that had been left open. One suspect was described as a black male, about 5’10” and 140 pounds, wearing a black hoodie and a baseball cap, gray shirt and dark pants. The second suspect was described as a black male, about 5’9” and 140 pounds, wearing a grey hoodie, blue shirt and jeans.

Apr. 8: At around 11:40 p.m., police received a report of burglary on the 300-block of N. Rolling Road in Catonsville. The victim’s daughter observed somebody leaving a rear parking lot with her blue and green mountain bike. The daughter knew the suspect because they are both 10th grade students at Catonsville High School. The suspect reportedly entered the residence through the front door and entered the laundry room, where the bike was stored unlocked. Neither the suspect nor the bike have been located yet.

Apr. 9: At around 11:35 a.m., police received a report of burglary on the 400-block of Gun Road in Relay. Two unknown suspects drove a beige late-model Chevy Silverado behind a residence and stole four tires and rims. One suspect was described as a white male, about 6’2” and thin, wearing a white shirt and jeans. He was accompanied by a white female.

Apr. 10. At around 8:25 a.m., police received a report of burglary on the 3300-block of Bero Road in Riverview. Some time between Apr. 9-10, an unknown person went into the victim’s yard and cut a lock on a shed. Once inside, a 1990 Honda dirt bike with a cracked red and white frame was taken, along with various parts.

Apr. 10: Shortly before 5 p.m., the Royal Farm store on the 500-block of Edmonson Avenue was robbed at knifepoint. A black male with a scarf over his face entered the store during change of shift, pulled out a black-handled knife, and pointed it at the clerk. The suspect took $60 from the register and fled.
