Recent law enforcement activity in the greater Arbutus area

May 12: At 3:30 a.m., police received a call for a security alarm at the rear entrance of a business on the 5200-block of Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville. When officers responded they found the rear exterior door that led to two businesses had been forced open, according to the police report. Police found a horizontal bar that would normally lay across the double doors and the bracket that was attached to to the door on the ground. The door led to a common room with doors to other businesses, where police found the door to S.K. Cleaners was forced open. Police did not find anything disturbed inside, however. The rear door to Divine Dominican Hair Salon was tampered with but not open.

May 12: Between May 11 and 10:30 a.m. on May 12, someone broke into a home on the 3300 block of Bero Road in Riverview. The resident came home and found that the rear window was popped open with a shovel. According to the police report, the thermostat was ripped off and lying on the floor. Trash bags were also taken from a box.
