Road Scholar: Leeds Avenue Update
Project to line street with curbs and sidewalks more than half complete.
Crews have progressed apace on the project to upgrade Leeds Avenue with curbs, sidewalks, storm drains and driveway aprons.
Since the $3.16 million project began in April, the length of the western side of Leeds has been completed from Soutwestern Boulevard to Linden Avenue. On the eastern side of the street, the sidewalk and curb are finished on the northern end of Leeds, from Southwestern to around Maiden Choice Lane.
When both sides are complete, the asphalt on Leeds will be milled and a new road surface laid down, according to state highway officials.
