Tractor Trailer Topples on Beltway Ramp
Truck bearing scrap metal flipped on Washington Boulevard ramp.
A tractor trailer overturned on the Hollins Ferry Road exit ramp of the beltway around 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, blocking traffic for about two hours while the mess was cleaned up.
The truck carried a load of scrap metal and was headed to the Western Acceptance Facility and Recycling Center when it toppled rounding the curve of the ramp, crushing the median guardrail. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
The driver, whose identity was not released by the police, was slightly injured but did not require medical attention.
