Work Begins on Leeds Avenue

New sidewalks, curbs, storm drains, driveway aprons and road surface in the works.

Crews this week began work in in Arbutus. The $3.16 million project includes new sidewalks, curbs, storm drains, driveway aprons and road surface from Linden Avenue to Southwestern Boulevard. Work is expected to be completed this fall.

In the meantime, construction will inconvenience drivers and residents who live on the heavily traveled street.

"It's going to be a pain for a while," said Paul Sappington, who lives on the 5000 block of Leeds. "But it's worth it."
