3 Suspects Charged With Attempted Murder After Police Chase
Two Germantown men and an Olney teen have been charged with attempted murder, after police said they shot a teenager in Gaithersburg.
GERMANTOWN, MD — Two Germantown men and an Olney teen have been charged with attempted murder, after police said they shot a teenager in the 7900 block of Spiceberry Circle in Gaithersburg.
According to a news release from the Montgomery County Police Department, officers on Thursday charged Terrence Stover, 20, of Germantown, Tyriq Roberts Hawkins, 19, of Germantown and a 16-year-old boy from Olney with the shooting of a 17-year-old boy.
Just before 5 p.m. officers from the 6th District Community Action Team were patrolling a neighborhood in the 7900 block of Spiceberry Circle when they saw a gray Honda Odyssey parked in front of an apartment building. Three suspects got out of the Honda and entered the building. Shortly after, one of the suspects shot the victim inside the building, and all three suspects fled in the Honda.

The victim was treated at the scene by police until Montgomery County Fire and Rescue took the victim to an area hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries, the news release said.
Officers attempted to pull over the suspects in the Honda, which continued erratically through several neighborhoods and onto I-270. Near Longdraft and Clopper Roads, the suspects jumped out of the Honda.

A search with help from residents, K-9 units, Montgomery County Police and Gaithersburg Police officers led to the capture of the three suspects.
Stover, Hawkins and a 16-year-old male were taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where they were charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and conspiracy to commit second-degree murder, authorities said.
The 16-year-old was charged as an adult, but his name has not been released by police.
All three suspects are being held without bond.
