He was, and always will be, a Marine! He’s very proud of that, and we are proud of him! He was my next-door neighbor while I was growing up. I used to babysit him and his siblings. I’m seven years older, but we have never lost touch.

I recently became a widow, and he knows how lonely I am and how I am grieving the loss of my husband. We were together for 45 years. So, as we say of each other, my brother from another mother, he always sends me something on my phone daily to keep my mind occupied and let me know he is thinking of me.

He has beautiful children and is the best father to them of any I know! I truly love him and the thoughtful things he does for me and all the people in his life!
