Husband Who Blamed Wife's Death On Panhandler Sentenced To Life

The Maryland man who killed his wife in December 2018 and blamed it on a beggar was sentenced to prison time.

BALTIMORE, MD — A Maryland man was sentenced Monday to life in prison for the 2018 murder of his wife and a subsequent attempt to cover it up.

Keith Smith, 55, was given the maximum sentence of life in prison for the murder of his wife, plus three years for a deadly weapon with intent to injure. His wife Jacquelyn Smith was stabbed to death in 2018.
