This weekend was expected to include 1 million Maryland travelers on the road. Here's a look at which routes to avoid on the way home.

BALTIMORE, MD — Holiday weekend travelers are heading home this weekend, as holiday shoppers fill the roads for the first weekend of the season.
More than one million Maryland residents were expected to be travelling this Thanksgiving, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic. The Maryland travel forecast was a 3 percent increase and the highest travel volume in over 10 years, since 2005, the agency says.
Good news: Sunday is not the worst time to head home this weekend. According to Google Maps data, the worst time is Saturday afternoon.
