Man Wanted In Armed Carjacking Arrested After Colliding With Semi: Police

A black male is accused of holding up a 49-year-old man at gunpoint and stealing his Honda Civic from the 200 block of Washburn Avenue.

BALTIMORE, MD — One person faces charges in connection with an armed carjacking after he held up a 49-year-old man at gunpoint early Thursday, stole his Honda Civic and later crashed it into a semi trailer at South Hanover and West Cromwell Street.

Police arrived at the scene of the collision at about 11 a.m. and found the car, which had been reported stolen from the 200 block of Washburn Avenue at about 5:15 a.m., according to a news release from the Baltimore Police Department.

The male driver of the Honda was taken to an area hospital for treatment. A firearm was also recovered from the car, police said.

One the male is released from the hospital he will be taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he will face charges, according to authorities.
