Massive Fire In Downtown Baltimore

At least five businesses and one home were involved in the fire, according to The Baltimore Sun.

BALTIMORE — Authorities responded to a massive fire Sunday morning in downtown Baltimore.

The Baltimore City Fire Department posted on X around 10:15 a.m. that there was a five-alarm blaze at South Lombard and Eutaw streets. About 30 minutes later, the agency reported the fire was largely contained, but as of shortly after 1 p.m., crews were still at the scene checking for hot spots.

At least five businesses — Thai Elephant Wok, Jano Ethiopian Cuisine, Docs Famous Wings, Lombard Liquors and The Goddess Gentleman’s Club — as well as a home were involved in the fire, which drew more than 240 emergency personnel, The Baltimore Sun reported.

The Baltimore Orioles advised fans bound for nearby Camen Yards for Sunday’s game to allot extra traffic time, adding Paca to Eutaw streets and Pratt to Baltimore streets were impacted and all Light Rail service south of North Avenue was suspended, with buses going to Cromwell and the airport.

The Light Rail had reopened by 2 p.m., according to the fire department.

LocalLink buses 54, 73, 94 and 163 were set to detour until 4 p.m., according to the Maryland Transit Administration.
