WHEELING, IL — A small jet aircraft from Baltimore slid off the end of the runway Wednesday afternoon at Chicago Executive Airport. Officials said there were no injuries to the two people on board, who came to a stop on a grassy area near Hintz Road at around 12:13 p.m. in the northern Chicago suburb of Wheeling.

The Gulfstream G150 had departed from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, which was investigating along with the National Transportation Safety Board.

The incident closed the runway as the plane was removed. The airport had a safety system at the end of the runway that kept the plane from going farther.
