MARYLAND — For some folks, guzzling beer while wearing green is how to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. For others, especially families, it might mean visiting an area restaurant to take advantage of special menu items and deals in celebration of all things Irish.

The March 17 holiday observes the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick's Day has evolved into a celebration of Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of green.

The folks at RetailMeNot and Offers.com has rounded up special menu items and deals at restaurants in Maryland that you can check out in honor of St. Patrick's Day. Contact your local restaurant to make sure they are open or doing carryout as part of their St. Patrick's Day celebration.

Bennigan’s: Through March 31, Bennigan’s will feature a special menu in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. From green beer to the Reuben Burger (a half-pound beef hamburger with chopped corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, Thousand Island dressing and served on toasted Rye bread) the Blarney Blast menu will delight all Irish-food-loving guests.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.: Enjoy a Cup O’ Gold at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. this St. Patrick’s Day, by ordering a Jameson Irish, mixed with Jameson Irish Whiskey, fresh lime juice and Fever-Tree Ginger Beer. This is available from March 17 to March 21.

Chili’s: The Chili’s margarita of the month for March is The Lucky Jameson, which features Jameson Irish Whiskey, Lunazul Blanco Tequila, triple sec, fresh sour and a salt rim for $5. Available at local Chili’s locations or to-go at participating restaurants.

Chuck E. Cheese: At Chuck E. Cheese kids have a chance to win a Pot O’ Gold in the form of free gameplay when they come in on March 17. Through April 26, get 30 Bonus Minutes Monday through Thursday, when you purchase 60 minutes or more.

Cold Stone Creamery: The ice cream chain has partnered with General Mills to bring you the magic of Lucky Charms in ice cream form with the Ice Cream at the End of the Rainbow treat. Available until March 31.

Dairy Queen: March brings the luck of the Irish to lovers of a Mint Brownie Blizzard and Mint Chip Shake at Dairy Queen. You can enjoy these delicious frozen treats for a limited time only.

Einstein Bros Bagels: On March 17, guests can indulge in Shamrock Shmear (special green plain cream cheese) with any fresh-baked bagel from Einstein Bros Bagels. The festive offer is only available for in-store orders.
