Police Issue Warrant For Man In Viral Ravens-Commanders Attack

BALTIMORE, MD — Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man they say was captured on video attacking two people following the Baltimore Ravens-Washington Commanders football game on Sunday.

John Callis, 24, of Baltimore, is wanted for first-degree aggravated assault and three counts of second-degree assault after assaulting two Commanders fans on Federal Hill, police said.

Video posted to social media on Sunday night shows a man wearing a Baltimore Ravens approaching two men in Commanders jerseys, while the man in the Ravens jersey kicks and punches one of the other men. The assailant then drags the other against a nearby wall and throws him to the ground.

The man in the Ravens jersey then walks away, shouting, “I don’t lose.”

As of Thursday, the video had been viewed nearly 50 million times.

The Ravens beat the Commanders 30-23 on Sunday afternoon in a highly-anticipated game at M&T Stadium known as the "Battle of the Beltway." The game pushed the Ravens' winning streak to four games.

Earlier this week, Baltimore police said they had identified a possible suspect in the attack and asked the victims to come forward.

Social media users were quick to allege that Callis was the attacker seen in the video, according to a Baltimore Banner report. Others tagged his employer, insurance provider Maury Donnelly & Parr Inc., who confirmed on social media that Callis was no longer employed with the company.

According to the Banner, Callis was arrested by Baltimore County police in 2021 after he and another man beat up someone lying on the street in Towson. He received probation before judgment on a charge of second-degree assault and fined $100.
