Ginsburg's hospitalization is the latest in a series of health issues. In August, she underwent treatment for a malignant tumor that was found on her pancreas. After the procedure, Ginsburg did not need further treatment.
In December, she underwent surgery to have malignant nodules removed from her left lung. The nodules were discovered incidentally when Ginsburg was being treated at George Washington University Hospital for rib fractures.
