Rain is expected to return to the Baltimore region this weekend. See the latest forecast.

Marylanders won't want to leave their umbrellas at home as the latest forecasts are calling for a gloomy, soggy start to the weekend in the Old Line State.
While cloudy and dry conditions are likely to continue through Thursday, rain chances return to the Baltimore area Friday into early Saturday as an area of low pressure and a series of fronts cross the region, according to the National Weather Service.
"Patchy fog is possible again late tonight, given increased low-level moisture across the region," forecasters wrote. "Dry conditions will prevail with scattered rain showers moving into the western mountains and Shenandoah Valley at or around daybreak Friday morning."

"Occasional showers are likely and some periods of steadier rain are possible," the Capital Weather Gang wrote. "Some spots could pick up around 0.25 to 0.5 inches."
According to forecasters, showers will linger into Saturday morning before morning clouds give way to increased afternoon sun.
"Rainfall amounts of 0.10 to 0.25 inches can be expected with locally heavier totals across the higher terrain," the National Weather Service said. "This should help quell fire weather concerns for another few days with additional rain chances by the middle part of next week."
In the wake of Saturday`s cold front, slightly cooler temperatures are expected Sunday, with highs only in the mid-50s in the Baltimore area. Meanwhile, mostly clear skies should mean plenty of sunshine before heading back to work on Monday.
