Woman, 31, Arrested For Murder Of Her Mother In Baltimore: Police

Toni Arnold was charged with first-degree murder in the Aug. 16 death of her mother, 48-year-old Sherry Birmingham, Baltimore police said.

BALTIMORE, MD — A woman has been charged with the murder of her mother, who was found suffering from gunshot wounds on Aug. 16, police say.

Officers arrested Toni Arnold, 31, and formally charged her with first-degree murder on Friday, Baltimore police said. She is currently being held at the Baltimore Central Booking and Inmate Center.

On Aug. 16 at approximately 10:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Washington Boulevard on a report of gunfire heard in the area.

When they arrived, they discovered Sherry Birmingham, 48, laying on the ground and suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

Birmingham was pronounced dead by medical personnel after she was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to police.

Homicide investigators summoned to the scene assumed control over the investigation, and detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Arnold after identifying her as the suspect, police said.
