$2M Damage Caused By Fire At Car Dealership, Repair Shop

An estimated $2M in damage was caused by a fire that broke out Saturday afternoon at EZ Car Plus in Edgewood.

EDGEWOOD, MD — The EZ Car Plus in Edgewood caught fire Saturday afternoon, resulting in an estimated loss of $2 million.

The fire broke out around 2:52 p.m. March 8 at the car dealership and repair shop, located at 2715 Pulaski Highway. It was discovered by an employee, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

More than 50 firefighters from the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company and other responding departments spent 30 minutes bringing the fire under control.

An employee was injured in the fire and taken to the hospital, according to the state fire marshal.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
