Harford Community College Gets New Vice President

The Board of Trustees of announces that Fredrick (Rick) P. Johnson has been selected as Vice President for Finance and Operations.  He is replacing Dr. John Cox, who accepted a position as President of Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts. Mr. Johnson will assume the post on July 2, 2012.

Mr. Johnson’s past professional experience includes serving as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, University of Arizona Alumni Association, and Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration, The George Bush School of Government and Public Service, Texas A&M University.  In addition, he previously worked as Vice President, EDCO International; Regional Manager, Mooney Aircraft Corporation; and Vice President, Bolen Construction Company, all in St. Louis, Missouri.

He earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Principia College (Elsah, Illinois) and an M.B.A., concentration in Finance, from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  In addition, Mr. Johnson attended Harvard University Institutes for Higher Education, Management Development Program.

He presented “The Ins and Outs of the Business of Alumni Associations – A Not for Profit Primer,” and “Alumni and Athletics: Perfect Marriage or Perfect Storm,” at the CASE VII Conference, Los Angeles, California, in December 2006.
