North Harford High To Perform 'Alice'

'Alice' is coming to North Harford High School this Friday and Saturday.

Lewis Carroll's timeless classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland gets a very faithful adaptation to the stage in the new family musical Alice* music, book and lyrics by Michael Lancy, produced by North Harford High School in collaboration with CenterStage Press, as part of the debut of a nation-wide program called Project CenterStage 2012.

One unique part of the project is that the participating schools from all across the country interact with and perform for each other via the web — including building their own websites, conferencing with each other, as well as watching and interacting with each other's rehearsals and performances.

North Harford was selected from hundreds of schools across the US to be a part of the first year of the project, and has produced their own unique vision of the show with the participation of three classes of students:  Dance One, Men's Choir, and Drama 3 under the direction of student director, Jess Zawadowicz, and teachers- Mrs. Angie Jones, Mrs. Melissa Winter, Mrs. Nancy Green, Mrs. Stephanie Hildebrand, Mr. Chuck Selfe, and Mr. Dwayne Noe.

Students in all three classes have been busy rehearsing and documenting the rehearsal and production process using the most innovative technology to document, film, edit, and upload videos of the rehearsal process and build a website which places the performing arts at North Harford on a national platform! The website- always being updated by adding new student directed films and documentation may be viewed here. Check back often as new media is added all of the time!

Alice* opens this Friday, May 11 at 7 p.m. at the auditorium of the Performing Arts Center at NHHS with an additional family matinee Saturday May 12 at 2 p.m.
