Bel Air Petition Sparks Election Board Meeting
A petition opposing the town's rezoning of five properties could go to referendum.

BEL AIR, MD — A petition by Bel Air residents against the rezoning of some parts of town prompted a meeting of the Bel Air Board of Election Judges.
A petition for referendum regarding Ordinance 809-22 (Amendment to Zoning District Boundaries) was submitted Monday morning.
Petitioners opposed the change of the zoning from Residential (R-2) to Business (B-3A) for these properties in Bel Air: 45, 53 and 57 East Broadway; and 38 and 44 Gordon Street.

The Board of Election Judges will meet at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, at Bel Air Town Hall, 39 North Hickory Avenue.
On the agenda: The board will review the charter, the process for certifying signatures required for referendum and the petition itself.
